Our Story

Nicholas Bijou - is a native New Orleanian who grew up in the heart of the city in a tale between two neighborhoods; the St. Bernard Housing Projects and the historic Treme neighborhood. Surrounded by the lively culture that is New Orleans; good music, great food, and gorgeous art is just apart of his DNA. As a kid, Nicholas would re-create drawings of his favorite cartoon characters, most notably Mickey Mouse and he credits this as the start of his artistic career. However, encouraged by his St. Augustine High School art teacher, Nicholas began taking his craft more seriously and has turned his hobby into this website. Nicholas is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana.

Tammy Bijou - is a native New Orleanian who had a creative bug for art at the very young age of six years old, creating her first work of art of Bambi from scraps of burlap and other fabrics. Self-taught with no formal training in Art, it was not until her mid 30’s that she started drawing as a hobby once she retired from the military service and as she raised her two kids. This quickly progressed into printing on canvases. With no particular genre, her paintings reflect realism in self-portraits, expressionism, abstract in cityscapes and seascapes. In some instances, she incorporates graphics to add variety to her original works sold as prints. Tammy was honored as ARTPLODE featured artist of the month in the Fall of 2018.
